Obama Family Puppy Choice

With Baraka Obama and his young family moving into the White House in a couple of months there will be a new addition to their family. They are adopting a new puppy! As of right now the type of puppy is still up for debate (sorry, I couldn't resist). What kind of puppy do you think would do well in a White House setting? Large or small, short-hair or long-hair, well behaved or wild, a good listener or a constant barker, great a keeping national security secrets or a blabber mouth...
I can't wait to see what everyone's opinions are as to what is the best puppy for the Obama's come January 20th 2009.

Maltease sice it is non sheading and stays small. agood dog for his daughters allergy, sice they have hair and not fur .It can be kept short or long . It will make a fine pet for his girls. Or part Martease and part poodle. They too are good for people with allergies.
whatever they get I know the girls will love it.

I understand they have settled on a Portuguese Water Dog, which, like a Poodle, is hypoallergenic. They will get the dog after Spring Break, so they can have a more stable environment for the dog's welcoming. I think that's great. The dogs are not too small and not too large, with plenty of energy, but not too much. I'm looking forward to finding out from where they get the dog, since they want a shelter dog.
Good for them!
